The two stable riders are siblings Hannah and James who compete under the names of ‘Hannah Connors Smyth’ and ‘James Connors Smyth.’
Hannah and James have grown up in a world of showjumping, learning how to ride at pretty much the same time as they were learning how to walk.
Their mother Gill Connors competed at shows nationally and internationally for the most part of her life. She has many achievements, including a team bronze from the pony European championships. Not to mention all of the other equestrian icons among the Connors family; their grandfather Mick Connors well known horse dealer, their uncle Francis Connors international showjumper, their aunt Sarah Connors owner of a showjumping yard in USA, their uncle Walter Connors owner of champion national hunt horses, the list continues!
Their father Peter Smyth is an international showjumper with many achievements to date including numerous international Grand Prix wins all over Europe. Peter’s family is steeped in the equine world as well. His brother Richard Smyth has successfully ran a show jumping yard, his nephew Jonathan Smyth is a very successful up and coming young rider competing both nationally and internationally and his father Jim Smyth was too a horse dealer in his day.
Hannah and James have been competing at pony and horse shows for many years. They have both represented Ireland at European events, have qualified for the RDS Dublin Horse Show on different occasions and have a collection wins in national competitions.
They compete both their own horses and take on livery showjumping horses for clients.
